Welcome to giordania 🇯🇴

This week, children will travel to Jordan through a fun and interactive cultural journey. They will first discover the country by observing pictures and clues, including the famous ancient city of Petra, known for its beautiful buildings carved into the rock. Through games and group discussions, they will identify the country and learn about its flag, traditions, culture, landscapes, and famous landmarks. They will also discover interesting facts about Petra and why it is one of Jordan’s most famous treasures.

Discover Petra – The Lost City

Children will discover Petra, one of Jordan’s most famous landmarks. They will look at pictures of the Treasury, the rocks and the ancient city, and learn how Petra was carved into the mountains. They can then create their own mini Petra using clay, cardboard or recycled materials.

Wadi Rum – Desert Adventure

Children will explore the desert of Wadi Rum, known for its impressive red sand, rocks and mountains. They will imagine that they are explorers travelling through the desert and complete a small “Wadi Rum Adventure” with clues, challenges and a treasure hunt.

The Dead Sea – Float Like a Feather

Children will learn about the Dead Sea and discover why it is so easy to float in its salty water. Through a simple experiment, they can compare how objects behave in fresh water and salty water. They will then create a small drawing of themselves floating in the Dead Sea.

Amman – Welcome to the Capital

Children will discover Amman, the capital city of Jordan, through pictures and clues. They will learn about the city, its buildings, food and everyday life. As a creative activity, they can design their own Jordanian city postcard, including famous places and symbols.

The Jordan Dice Game

Children will play a fun Jordan Dice Game. Each number on the dice corresponds to a different challenge—for example: name something you learned about Jordan, act like a camel, identify a Jordanian landmark, answer a question about Petra or find the Jordanian flag. The activity combines movement, teamwork and learning.

Journey Across Jordan – Cultural Treasure Hunt

Children will take part in a final Jordanian treasure hunt. Around the camp, they will find clues connected to Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, Amman, Jordanian food, traditions and animals. Working in teams, they will solve the clues and complete their journey across Jordan. At the end, they will receive a small “Jordan Explorer” certificate.
